Who can become a volunteer?
We welcome anyone who wants to volunteer with California Transfer Support Network to fill out an application form.
We do not discriminate against individuals based on race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, or socio-economic status. We strive to support volunteers as best we can and to place them in roles that match their abilities.
I don’t see any current volunteer opportunities that I want to do.
No problem. Select “Other” as your interest, and we will inquire about your interests during the interview process. If you don’t see a current volunteer opportunity that speaks to you, we still encourage you to apply.
What is the time commitment for volunteering?
This is really up to you. In general, we ask our volunteers to commit to at least 6-8 hours per month, with a minimum commitment of 30 hours.
Some roles are short term and others might need a six month commitment or longer. You can volunteer at any time of the week, day or night. You can volunteer at evenings and weekends too, again depending on what you want to do.
